Hello, I tried downloading ToneLib Metal, but the package seems to be broken for a long time now and it doesn't seem like a fix is coming too soon. I just switched to linux a few months ago and I'm not that savvy. Is there any way one could still install it? Or is there any older version I could download?
Hi @Kipp172. I use ToneLib Metal on Ubuntu Studio 2025.04. The only dependence I've needed is a dummy package. Check here: https://tonelib.net/forums/threads/tonelib-gfx-cant-install-on-ubuntu-24-04-lts.16838/#post-25944
@cacao74 Thanks for the answer! I got ToneLib GFX working, also with a dummy package. ToneLib Metal is a different problem: The download link seems to be broken. I tried redownloading a couple of times, but it's always the same. Also tried opening it with root and sudo but still the same error. I know you can open a .deb file like an archive, but I don't know what to do with the files inside it. Or if you still have your working ToneLib-Metal.deb, could you maybe upload it somewhere (if it's allowed)?
I do not use graphical interface to install packages, I like the command line. Try this two things: - verify that your package is not corrupted by checking its MD5 signature $ md5sum ToneLib-Metal-amd64.deb 8dac954d1324b51fe59e05ba1eaf1229 ToneLib-Metal-amd64.deb - after that, with sudo, try to install the package $ sudo apt install ToneLib-Metal-amd64.deb
Thank you very much, it worked! I used sudo dpkg -i ToneLib-Metal-amd64.deb and it just installed with no problems.
